Default Idea to stop trading spam

OK, I've done a search for this idea and couldn't find one. I know there has been loads of suggestions to help stop spam trading and this one may have been discusses in the past. If it has, I'm sorry and please delete this thread.

My idea is to have designated trading outposts. For the most part people only trade in five areas. Kamadan, Keineng, Lions arch, Droks and Ascalon. If Anet put trading posts near these areas then people could use these. The way to force this is to ONLY allow trading in these places. What I mean is, you cannot use the trade button in anywhere but the trading posts. This would mean there'd be no point in WTS or WTBs in normal outposts because you'd have to leave to go to the trading posts anyway to actually complete the deal.

However, I thought "what if you want to give someone (a guildy for example) an item in a normal outpost..." Then you can GIVE an item. Passing them something but not allowing anything in the other direction. This could be money or an item but means you can't sell anything.

Do you think this could work?

its not a bad idea. it needs a little work for the reason you said giving someone something, but not bad.

Unfortunatly, I don't think it would work.

They'd still spam local chat of the same places.

Only now there'd be an other step in trading. To map into the nearest trading outpost to do the actual transaction.

What you fail to take into account is that the spammers have one goal, and one goal alone with their spam. To reach the widest audience for their spam on the off chance of catching someone who aren't actively looking for a trade.
You know... the same reason they don't use the blimming trade chat but spam the local chat instead.

Getting rid of trade spam is a laudable goal. But I don't think this will make any difference.

A limitless ignore list, on the other hand... If spamming the local chat meant that the spammer would end up on the ignore list of 90% of the population in an outpost. That'd make them sit up and take notice.

By doing this, you'll have to remove the 'trade' button in non-comercial outposts, so people can't trade there anyways.

And doing that would set back trading as a whole.

For example, let's say I want some vermin hides for a 20/20 Air Staff. You go to Senji's Corner and you can buy them for 150g each easily because of the VwK vermin farmers. If I want Grawl Charms from the collector just outside Port Sledge, where would I trade for those? How about Warden Horns at Arborstone?
